Fun alternative to celebrating Halloween?

I grew up never really celebrating Halloween, dressing up or anything. And after talking to my husband we don’t want to do it with our kids either. But at the same time, I don’t want them to miss out on the fun of dressing up etc. I thought about letting them dress up and taking them to church (halloween alternative) functions. But I also thought about maybe doing some sort of dress up party each year in October- just not on or for Halloween. Any suggestions? This year they are both young, so its not a big deal. But I’d like to start some sort of fun tradition that we can celebrate, instead of Halloween. Suggestions? THANKS!
